Yesterday I blogged over at Middle Places. Did you catch it? It was about canker sores, christmas musicals and an all out war with the Christmas tree lights. Heh. Not really. It was really about how no matter how much we plan and prepare, things don’t go according to our plans. But in the middle of all the chaos we have hope. I know I’m partial, but I really think you should go read it.
I’ve also go a winner for the Lilla Rose giveaway. Be sure to go check it out and see if it was you! And if you missed it, there was also a funny story about my hot mess of hair.
The photo challenge for December 3rd was “Tradition.” I have some fun Christmas traditions, like the star at the top of our tree, white lights (did you see my poor, sad white light saga yesterday?) and our travels every year to visit family.
But yesterday didn’t really have any of those kinds of moments in it. Then last night I sat down on my couch and grabbed my snuggie because I am always cold for some reason. Before I could even get settled this old girl had jumped from her perching spot and was making her way to my lap.
Look at those white whiskers. This girl, Bailey, is an ancient among cats. She’s closing in on 16 years old. She also has diabetes. And all of her fang teeth have fallen out. When she yawns her jowls smack like an old person who doesn’t have their dentures in. It is extremely undignified and hysterical. As my grandfather often said to me…Don’t get old. It’s inconvenient.
I also tried out a new bokeh light app and came up with this photo last night as well. I love that bokeh light effect! I’m going to have to see what else I can bokeh up. Also, you can totally tell where the strand of lights died and just tried to rearrange what was already there to fill the gaps. Heh.
Abby’s linking up again today for the photo challenge and you can see loads more pictures by heading over to Instagram searching for the hashtag #MiddlePlaces. Give me a tag (@middlesistermaria) if you’d like to be featured on the blog. Today’s photo prompt is “Sweets.”
