Hi. I’m Maria, the geek behind this blog. Let’s get to know each other!
This ^^^ is me on a fantastic, bouncy, curly hair day. My son gave me those curls.
For the record…this was me taking it up a notch. A fashion blogger I’m not, although I do enjoy a bit of frippery from time to time. More often than not I’m in jeans, a geeky t-shirt and Chucks or Chacos, with my hair pulled into a messy bun and I’m astonishingly okay with that. In fact, I can totally rock that look. It’s one of my super powers. Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself to justify that at 41 I’m still struggling to find my inner fashionista.
I love coffee, blogging, graphic & web design, snark, musicals, gadgets, cats, books, Jesus and my family. But not necessarily in that order.
If you poke around the site, you’ll hear about my favorite things (raindrops on roses, brown paper packages tied up with string, web services, apps and books), all manner of geekery, tech-stuff, social media, graphic designing tips for beginners, parenting confessions, all wrapped in a good dose of grace. I’m a big fan of lavish grace, but not ironing.
As part of a challenge to blog everyday for 31 days that began at the beginning of October 2013 (which I started in the middle of the month because I’m so organized and on top of things … ummm … sort of. Not really.), I decided to start a place for all of the words in my head and heart that don’t really fit in on my collaborative blog Middle Places. It turns out that I had quite a few of them bubbling up inside of me.
Along the way, I’ve discovered my inner digital designer self and found a love for all things graphic design and website design. Who knew? I also found my soapbox: social media and how it pertains to parenting and our relationships.
So grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair and sit with me for a while. I love to chat over a good cup of coffee! Forget about the dirty laundry, the spills and the pile of dishes for now. I’ve learned a little something about grace and love and “good enough” as I have begun to untangle the puzzle of me. It turns out there’s only One who can solve the problem of Maria. It’s a good thing He’s on my side. I’m willing to wager He’s on yours too!
The Problem That Will Never Be Solved
